Nostalgia

Tonight I was feeling nostalgic on many levels. You see, I was decorating snowmen cookies. This brought me back to the days when I had a few little helpers and hands in the kitchen with me. Yes, it was messy, but memories were created. It was fun! Tonight as I was doing it by myself, I had wonderful memories of what it was like years ago. I was decorating these cookies as I was listening to CFAM. Yes, I know, you are wondering why CFAM? What is she thinking??? CFAM has Christmas music that reminds me of my parents, because that is all they listened to. I heard the wonderful German carols, many of which I sang as a child. Mom and Dad always made Christmas special even on the income that Dad was on. This is also a wonderful memory. I feel very blessed. I come from a family that was great and I have a family that I wouldn't trade for the world. I love you all very much and looking so forward to meeting the newest little one! Anyway, those are my nostalgic feelings for this evening.
Enough of this, (yes, I did shed a few tears when I wrote this!) now on to other matters. Gareth's birthday party will be at our house on Sunday, Dec.9. Come whenever you can, but supper will be at 5:00 pm. It will be chicken dinner .
See you then
Mom

Such great memories mom!! I wish I would have been there to help you yesterday. Seeing as I probably would have still made a big mess, it really would have been like old times!

Mmmmm...chicken dinner! Love you all!

We will also be there, will probably come after church. Btw, I figured that you probably shed a few tears mom...classic Carla.
It's kind of funny how I now can related to those memories as the boys "help" all the time now with cooking and baking and such. When they get their apron's on, which cover their entire bodies it's quite awesome. Anyway, see you all on Sunday, hopefully there will be another Toews there as well.

Peace OUt.
Joel
