so...
we called sears, and they sent a repair man today to look at the fridge. yesterday when i called they said it wouldn't cost anything unless the fridge was making normal fridge sounds. i assured the gentleman on the phone that these were sounds very uncharacteristic, especially for new fridges. this didn't stop the fact that last night i had a dream that they charged us $1203 for repairing our new fridge. i was hoping this morning that my spiritual gift isn't prophecy. luckily the repair man came, heard the sound, and assured me that the specific hum our fridge makes is uncharacteristic of new fridges. unfortunately it's not out of the question either. it has to do with the aluminum in the the freezer, and the motor turning on, and the fridge being level and on a sturdy platform, which it's currently not. so, if you unscrew the aluminum backing, and screw it back up again, shake it up, and turn yourself around, the fridge shouldn't make noise, until it does again. woo hoo. but, on the bright side, it's not going to blow up. so that a plus.
now onto the adventures of attempting to get the washer and dryer downstairs. dad's pretty sure it'll work. he's a very matter of fact kind of guy. i like that! "we'll get them downstairs, no problem" or "who cares if your basement leaks, your not living down there, just put a dehumidifier down there, and you'll be good" or "you don't need to replace your furnace until it dies". all sagely matter of fact advice. i love you dad!!

let me be clear. we don't have leaking in the basement. that's just something dad would say.
What??!!
Dad.
Oh, sorry for the advice I left on your answering machine then. I guess you have to be clear on what is wrong, and the crazy things dad says. Though I have to agree, that is something dad would say, though he would also talk about the need for proper eavestroughing and drainage around your house. The thing about the funace. Total dad.
Peace OUt.

What?? What???!!!
Dad.
I fear I am being slandered here.
absolutely no slander is being put out here!! we appreciate your matter of factness. i'm very much like that myself. it's a good thing. you see a situation and then say the thing that makes the most sense. it's awesome.
No slander at all. Just "classic George". Which is good.
Peace Out.
Joel
