Beaver

I have to tell you all my latest kayaking story. I went on Monday evening. It was a quiet and beautiful evening. I paddled north-west and was paddling into the sun. I couldn't see much, but could hear the ducks flying up ahead of me. I went a quarter mile or so and then turned around and came back. Now the sun was behind me. As I paddled along all of a sudden I noticed 4 blue winged teals coming right at me. They couldn't see me because of the sun. When they were about 3o meters in front of me they saw me and suddenly veered away. A little further, I saw a beaver sitting on the shore, half in the water and half out chewing on something. I stopped paddling and sat very still. The kayak drifted right towards the beaver. I got to within about 4 ft. of the beaver and he kept busily chewing away unaware that I was there. When he noticed me, he sat very still, seemingly not sure what to do, but then he turned, went down and splashed his tail. What fun!
